It’s getting close to the New Year and car manufacturers are offering massive deals before the 31st December deadline. The vehicles need to be registered by next Sunday for the manufacturers to meet this year's sales targets and close the year with a bang. Not only are roads going to have a bumper-to-bumper crawl, even the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will definitely have its own "human traffic" as many will be lining up to register their cars.

Datuk Aishah Ahmad, President of Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), said things were looking up for the car industry with rising sales. She pointed out that the sales volume in November increased by 4.6% from the previous month, with the total industry volume (TIV) till November this year being 1.3% higher compared to the same period last year.

The TIV up to November stands at 521,907 units, against 515,252 units sold in the corresponding period last year. In January, MAA had forecasted that the year-on-year TIV in 2017 would grow by 1.7% to 590,000 units. The highest TIV recorded was in 2015 with 666,674 units.

Here’s a list of the discounts and promotions (infographic by The Star). So, enjoy the festivities and go book your car.
