Mercedes-Benz launches Premium Pick-up

Mercedes-Benz has introduced its new pick-up truck, the X-Class, providing a posh competition in the segment. Developed in partnership with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the X-Class shares the same platform that underpins the Navara and the upcoming Alaskan.

There will be three engine options: the diesel X220d and X250d, which produces 163hp and 190hp respectively; the petrol engine generates 165hp. Both come with either 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission. A more powerful X350d option, with as much as 258hp, will be available mid-2018. The X-Class will come equipped with a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.

The new Mercedes-Benz X-Class will be available in Germany beginning November, with an asking price of US$43,114. From early 2018, the X-Class will make its way to markets like South Africa and Australia, and from early 2019, Argentina and Brazil.

    1. As far as we know, BMW is focusing on electrification and digitalization of their product line...so, probably more plug-in hybrid versions than a pick-up. Why? Were you hoping for one?
