When the BMW Society Malaysia (BSM) approached our sponsor, X-1R Global, late last year, to sponsor and support its members during the All BMW Club Drag 2015, X-1R was more than happy to oblige. The event was organised by the BMW Society of Thailand, comprising a round trip journey from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok and back again, for a total driving distance of 3,200 kilometres. It proved to be a test of endurance for both man and machine.

Ten BMW models from the E30, E90, E92, F30, Z4, E60 series, of both diesel and petrol variants, started the long journey on 15 December. Prior to starting, the vehicles had to be prepped and the X-1R Engine Treatment ensured that the engines set off running at tip top condition.

Throughout the week that followed, participants noticed that their cars were smoother, felt “lighter” and the engines responded much quicker. There were noticeably less engine noise and knocking as well. Some BMW models, BSM noted, are known for losing engine oil and require topping up more frequently than the service interval, but after using the X-1R Engine Treatment, it was not necessary at all. The participants even experienced improved fuel consumption.

All ten cars arrived safely at the Bangkok Drag Avenue in Pathumtani on 20 December before turning back to return to the end point in Kuala Lumpur on 22 December.
