The 2015 Murano - cutting edge luxury

The Murano has a unique position in the Nissan line-up. Its proportions puts it somewhere between the Rogue and Pathfinder, both of which are big and small family-oriented. While the Murano could easily be used for carting your brood around and on school-runs, that's not exactly its intended purpose since it, unlike its siblings, lacks a third row. There's also no rear-seat entertainment system to keep the young ‘uns entertained and from kicking your seat out of boredom, and there are no clever storage systems to keep all the toys and things that accompany children neatly away.

That being said, Nissan took an aggressive approach to the cabin area: the dash in the 2015 Murano has been lowered for improved visibility for drivers; and an additional 7-inch, full-colour information display is now standard in the gauge cluster, with dual-zone automatic climate control and push-button start.

Sound-quelling insulation throughout the vehicle structure and an acoustic-laminated windshield shut out most sounds for a quiet interior environment. The quality of the leather and woodgrain in the SL and Platinum editions look and feel as plush as any luxury vehicle. The “Zero Gravity” seat sounds like something from space, and indeed was inspired by NASA technology, was designed to reduce passenger fatigue; they come standard for the front and rear passengers. The new Murano claims to have the best-in-class baggage volume of 39.6 cubic feet behind the second row of seats, as part of a total interior volume of 147.7 cubic feet.
