Hyundai recently has been honoured with not one but two awards by Car and Driver, for the Hybrid and Subcompact categories respectively. The Hyundai Tucson has previously been ranked as the Most Dependable Small SUV by J.D. Power and the Elantra was named the Best Value Compact Car in the U.S by Vincentric. These new set of awards prove that Hyundai is pushing on all fronts to be a major player in the global marketplace with quality offerings.
The Ioniq was honoured for its three distinct powertrain choices, including electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid, on top of the class-leading efficiency that maintains a fun-to-drive experience.
The Accent has been honoured due to its unique design, fuel economy and redesigned interior.
“As we continue to push the limit for driver experience and value, this recognition is a good reminder that we are changing what matters for our customers,” said Mike O’Brien, Vice President, Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America.
“Car and Driver is one of the most trusted names in automotive journalism and we’re honored to have the Ioniq and Accent included in their Editor’s Choice picks,” he added.
Both these vehicles, with their bold designs and a host of safety and infotainment features, highlight Hyundai’s commitment to a great driving and ownership experience for its customers.

Here’s a bit on Car and Driver’s award selection process:
- It tests and reviews hundreds of vehicles each year to highlight the standouts in each class.
- In-depth criteria including the results of its Buyer’s Guide in-depth testing, track performance and value, which help to narrow choices to segment leaders, thus helping buyers decide which models are worth their consideration.
