Toyota C-HR Pricing and Specifications for Malaysia

The details for the much-awaited Toyota C-HR have been revealed by UMW Toyota. These specs are for the 1.8-litre naturally aspirated variant, the only one available in Malaysia. 

The best-selling SUV in Japan last year will be priced at RM145,500 on-the-road, without insurance. The C-HR has a much more sophisticated and costly double wishbone rear suspension, where its rivals have the torsion beam setup.

The engine is a 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC with Dual VVT-I that produces 138hp @ 6,400rpm and 171Nm @ 4,000rpm via CVT with 7-speed Sequential Shiftmatic.

And these are the other goodies you get in the C-HR :

• Seven airbags (includes for the driver’s knee too)
• ABS with EBD and brake assist

• Isofix rear child seat anchors

Buyers will get the option of choosing from five colours: White Pearl CS, Metal Stream Metallic, Attitude Black Mica while Blue Metallic and Red Mica—the last two are the only options that come with black roof and mirrors.

Toyota has established itself as a true contender in this segment, and this would be a time that manufacturers try to trump one another to reach the pinnacle of the SUV market. More choices for us. Yay.
