Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 8?

Forget the recent news reports about the feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The big news from one of the world’s great film franchises is that Paul Walker is set to make an appearance in the next instalment.

After Walker's untimely death back in 2013, the actor's two brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, worked together and had their brother’s face digitally overlaid onto their own to allow the final touches and scenes to be filmed for Furious 7. Fast forward three years and it is reported that the brothers, who are dedicated to the memory of their brother, report that a discussion has taken place to reprise their role - well, at least that of Brian O’Conner, the character played by Paul Walker - for a cameo appearance in Furious 8.

Fast & Furious 8 is set for release in April 2017 and to date, the news around the movie has been more about the infighting between Diesel and Johnson, but of course this may well be just a hype. There is no confirmation on the appearance of Brian O’Conner, but in reports carried by Entertainment Tonight, the brothers did reveal that a lengthy conversation had taken place with Johnson concerning the possibility, despite the rather touching farewell to him at the end of Furious 7.

The Fast and Furious franchise seems to be showing no signs of slowing down just yet. Both Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron will be making appearances in Furious 8, along with a glittering list of vehicles. And already, the release date for Furious 9 and 10 have also been set, with release dates in April 2019 and April 2021 respectively. Can’t wait.
