But this time for different reasons.

Elon Musk, the mega rich founder of companies as diverse as Paypal, Tesla Motors and Space X, and let us not forget his involvement in the Hyperloop, is no stranger to the world's press headlines. This time, though, he is making a splash for a different reason as his on-again, off-again marriage to Talulah Riley is once again firmly on the rocks.

On Monday, in Los Angeles, Riley filed for divorce in the Superior Court, and thus mark the second time the couple had tried to be uncoupled. Musk had filed an earlier petition on New Year’s Eve in 2014, one that he had withdrawn some seven months later.

According to sources close to the couple, the separation is a friendly one after the couple had in fact split some six months prior, but both wish to remain besties. Although, grounds for divorce are "irreconcilable differences", which may make the friendship a little difficult.

There is no mention of any pre-nup agreement in the divorce papers and it is understood that Riley, who appeared in the films Inception and Pride and Prejudice is seeking spousal support. The couple have no children, although Musk has five sons from a previous union. But being a billionaire, the settlement may still cost him a pretty penny or two.
