After more than four decades, Mercedes has made a cabriolet version of the S-Class. Well, we only have the official teaser image for the moment. The actual car will make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Mercedes has been a bit of tease lately, as it did with the recently revealed Mercedes-AMG C63, the soon to be revealed 2017 E-Class sedan, and now the S-Class Cabriolet. The sixth addition to the S-Class family after the sedan, the long-wheelbase sedan, the Maybach’s, the Pullman, and the coupes, the cabriolet has a removable fabric top on a two-door model.

The S-Class cabriolet can be a bit bulky, but it probably won’t drive that way. Like its coupe sibling, the cabriolet could get several variants, each with its own engine: at the lowest end would be the 4MATIC S550, which has a twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 that churns out 449hp. An S550 coupe can hit 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.
