The UK-based tuner, Urban Truck, went to work on the Land Rover Defender before the next edition due to be launched in 2016, putting in a 6.2-litre V8 from GM; the base model is capable of 430hp but that can go up to 500 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed auto transmission with an electronic gear channels the power to all four wheels.
The all-black exterior frames the glossy brake calipers, dual stainless steel exhausts, carbon fibre vents, bespoke front grille, 18” wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires, Bilstein damper kit and an anti-roll bar kit with sport springs that lowered the SUV by two inches.
The interior is trimmed with black nappa leather and red stitches; the ceiling is covered in black Alcantara and the door sills covered plates feature the Urban Truck brand. Completing the upgrades are the Alpine satellite navigation system, heated Recaro Sportster CS seats, three-spoke Momo steering and a powerful speaker system with Alpine sub woofer.
