And he gets the girl (hare).
Mercedes-Benz is in the running for the best ad in the upcoming Super Bowl XLIX in February. In this iteration of the classic fable, the tortoise is still the winner, but not because the hare falls asleep (he does get distracted by a game of cards, though). Instead, the tortoise stumbles upon a Mercedes-AMG factory and decides to get into one of the German automaker’s all-new 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S, and shoots all the way to the finish line. At one point, it looked like the hare was going to become roadkill.

It was a unfair race; the GT S packs 503hp with its 4.0-litre biturbo V8 which produces 469 lb-ft of torque. It got the tortoise from slower than snail pace to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds. “Slow and steady, my ass!”
