The huge crowd at the Orange County Speedway saw Caleb Holman and Coleman Pressley, both in the lead for the X-1R Pro Cup championship, in a battle during the last 20 laps. Holman went on to win his second race of the season, extending his points lead and gaining bonus points which goes to the total for the championship series that starts on 6 September.

In the Edelbrock Victory Lane, an excited Holman said, “There was some real good racing tonight. These guys know how to beat and bang you without spinning you out and that’s how you’re supposed to race. It’s tough to pass here because you can run side by side all the way around, but eventually I was able to get around Coleman there at the end. A big thanks goes out to Food Country USA and this entire Henderson Motorsports race team for their support.”

Pressley took second and South Carolina youngster, Gus Dean, continued his impressive performance by taking third place on the podium. Holman zoomed off from the second place in the starting position, and quickly took the lead which he held on until the caution on lap 100 for the halfway break. The series redraw moved his #75 to sixth place, with the lead going to veteran Brian Keselowski. Keselowski then led the next 27 laps until an oil leak brought him to a tenth place finish. Former series champion, Benny Gordon, usurped Keselowski from the lead on lap 128 until Pressley and Holman flexed their muscles on lap 166, and a classic short track racing battle ensued with Holman eventually riding his #75 Food Country USA to victory.
