The most talked about launch of the year on our shores just came to pass last Thursday when the All-New Perodua Myvi was launched. A host of safety and technological features usually found in higher priced and premium cars is yours for under RM60,000.00. An absolute bargain.

The first unit was delivered to Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Group Chairman, YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar. PNB owns a 38% stake in UMW Corporation, which in turn owns a stake in Perodua.
PNB Group Chairman YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar is all smiles as he and his wife take the first delivery of the All-New Perodua Myvi in Malaysia from Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Senior General Manager En Muhammad Fateh Teh Abdullah.
“As the Group Chairman of PNB I'm truly honoured to be the first customer to make the booking and to receive the first delivery of the All-New Perodua Myvi yesterday morning. It is beautifully designed by our very own Malaysian designers and engineers at Perodua and has all the advanced features you would expect only in premium cars. And a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating too!” Tan Sri Abdul Wahid said.
As of 8.00 pm on 17 November, a total of 6,000 bookings were received for the All-New Myvi and deliveries began on the same day itself.
Perodua also handed keys to three winners of the ‘Myvi 12 Iconic Years Anniversary SMS & Win Contest’. They each won a Myvi 1.5 Advance variant, which retails for RM55,300, on-the-road before insurance.

Since August 1994, Perodua has produced more than 3.2 million cars. The first-generation Perodua Myvi was introduced in 2005 and over a million units were produced between 2005 and 2017. It is the most popular model in the history of Perodua.

So sad, the word anniversary means the date on which an event took place in the previous year(s). The etymology of the word comes from two Latin words 'Annus' meaning year and versus meaning turning. So to say 12 Iconic years anniversary is absolutely horrible English. Better to write 12th Anniversary of the iconic Myvi.............hear endeths the lesson.
