In many countries, the SUV is in such high demand that many car manufacturers are racing against time to get these cars to the customers. Safety features, high ground clearance, bigger luggage compartment, sturdier construction, ability to handle light off-road jaunts, and reasonable towing and hauling capacity are some of the reasons people buy SUVs, and why they have become the hottest-selling new vehicles.
Malaysia just welcomed the launch of the Toyota C-HR and the first 50 owners were treated to a massive "collection party" at Technology Park Malaysia.
“Since being previewed last year, interest in the all-new Toyota C-HR has been high. To date, we have received around 1,500 bookings for the model and because this is a unique model, we wanted to personally hand over the vehicle to our first 50 customers,” said Ravindran Kurusamy, President of UMWT.

The C-HR, which stands for Coupe High-Rider, is sold in only one variant in Malaysia: 1.8L paired to a CVT transmission, which produces 138 hp and 171 Nm of torque.
This variant comes with a price tag of RM145,500 (approx. US$ 37,000) on-the-road with GST, without insurance, and you get a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
Buyers get to choose from five colours: Metal Stream Metallic; Attitude Black Mica; and for an additional RM848 (US$ 217) to the total purchase price, the White Pearl CS, Red Mica with Black Roof or Blue Metallic with Black Roof.
