Third Generation Porsche Cayenne Debuts in Malaysia

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the brand custodian of Porsche in Malaysia, has just presented the third generation of the Cayenne.

It features powerful turbo engines, a new eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox, new chassis systems, and innovative Porsche Advanced Cockpit "display and control" concept with total connectivity that is even sportier and comfortable.

The machine is also 65 kilogrammes lighter, thanks to intelligent lightweight construction.

“The new Cayenne promises to be more Porsche and more Cayenne than ever. Our primary objective was to further highlight the character of the vehicle. The new Cayenne is now more precise, elegant, athletic and expressive. The Cayenne has also been digitalised and networked throughout by providing another level of digital connectivity to the cockpit,” said Arnt Bayer, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

It is available in two variants: the 3-litre turbo engine delivers 29 kW (40 hp) more than the previous model, bringing it up to 250 kW (340 hp); the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine in the Cayenne S, which reaches speeds of up to 265 km/h, goes up to 324 kW (440 hp), an increase of 15 kW (20 hp).

Taking cues from the iconic 911 sports car—for the first time—it features mixed tyres and rear-axle steering. And the century sprint is done in under 5 seconds!

“Versatility, quality and new cutting-edge driver assistance systems offer both driver and passengers’ extraordinary comfort. This is how the Cayenne makes the Porsche experience even more fascinating but remains as a genuine sports car for five,” Bayer added.

Active all-wheel drive is standard. In addition, there are the Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) electronic roll stabilisation system, and the newly developed high-performance Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB).
