Automologist by day, SuperDad (or is that BatDad?) by night. MAC has his eyes set on the new ride inspired by the highly anticipated superhero film...for the everyday school run.
My kids are already bugging me about the upcoming Batman versus Superman film, with of course two of their ‘fave’ superheroes doing battle. Well, it would seem that the good folks over at Fiat Chrysler get excited over movies and of course movie tie-ins as well. The company made a few promotional Star Wars: The Force Awakens concept vehicles, but now it's leveraging on a movie in which cars actually do exist.
Fiat Chrysler has announced its 2016 Jeep Renegade "Dawn of Justice" Special Edition, which is quite straightforward as special edition vehicles go. It is based on the Renegade Latitude 4x4, so it's a four-wheel drive with the larger 2.4-litre engine and automatic transmission.
It features mainly monochrome or blacked-out accents, and comes in granite crystal or carbon (no Superman’s trademark red and blue?). Both versions will sport 18” gloss black wheels and exterior trim pieces, and a special badge. The granite crystal version will have a two-tone gloss black roof.
The monochrome styling continues on the inside, with a mostly black interior, metallic trimmings and black textile seats. The driver also enjoys a remote start, a power driver's seat and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Fiat announced that the "Dawn of Justice" Special Edition will go on sale at the end of February 2016, costing US$26,250. Looking at the base price for a similarly equipped Renegade Latitude (minus the unique stuff) you would expect to pay US$25,985, so that's a pretty small bump in price for the special edition.
How cool would it be to do the school run in that? Very. Shame they are only available in the US of A for now.
