VW posters are timeless

It turns out that our Automologist, RICK, is a closet 'posterphiliac'. He shares with us some of his favourite automotive posters, featuring none other than the Volkswagen brand.

Let’s go old school. I collect posters from the past; they are very simple and easy to understand, even if sometimes a bit cliché. Here are some of the more interesting ones that were part of VW’s advertising campaigns throughout the years; all are by the Doyle Dane Bernbach Agency and helmed by art directors such as Roy Grace, Pete Harold, Mas Yamashita and others.

Doyle was not the only agency which headed advertising campaigns for VW, of course, but I chose to show you the ones by Doyle because its uniqueness made these ads famous during those times. Even now we can appreciate how creative they are:
