Following their domination of the 2014 F1 season with a one-two in the Drivers Championship and a runaway win in the Constructors Championship, Mercedes plans to celebrate their success by creating two special edition SL63 Roadsters dedicated to Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, who helped to create them.

Lewis’s SL63 features a special shade of black paint that is supposed to set it apart from other Mercedes Roadsters and will be adorned with gold highlights on the front and rear bumpers, and on the bonnet and chromed black exhaust pipes. The Gold on Black theme carries over to the cockpit where the black leather used for the seats and the central console will be offset by gold stitching and trim pieces.

Nico seems to have gone for a slightly more sedate look with a white exterior accented by grey door handles and spoiler, and a titanium grey interior and hood, with flashes of white and cashmere trim.

Both cars have been given very significant power boosts which will now see a power output increase from a mere 530hp in a standard SL63 to a hairy-chested 585hp that will propel the car to 300kph before the speed limiter kicks in.

There will only be 38 cars built and as they are all being built to commemorate the races from this year’s calendar, no two will be the same; in fact, each one will have a track embroidered on its floor mat and engraved on the central console.

SO, how much would you expect to pay for exclusivity? Well, buy one and it will cost you a coooool US$393,0000, but if you can't make up your mind then you can take a pair for only US$773,000. Let’s hope the cars can get on better than the drivers did this season. Delivery is set to take place at the 2015 German Grand Prix.
