EVO's 2014 Car of the Year Award goes to...

The Ferrari 458 Speciale continues to add to its growing accolades from the world’s automotive press. Despite facing some serious competition, the supercar from Maranello snagged EVO's 2014 Car of the Year Award when the panel unanimously voted for the Ferrari as their first choice, showing once again that automotive experts the world around agree that the Italian carmaker has outdone itself with this vehicle.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale had some worthy competition. Second place went to the Jaguar F-Type R, followed by the Porsche Cayman GTS, VW Golf R, Renaultsport Megane 275 Trophy-R, BMW i8, McLaren 650S Spider, Aston Martin Vanquish, BMW M3 and the Audi S1.

The McLaren 650S was faulted for its odd driving position while the Audi S1 lacked the final fine handling edge.
