Max has a bad day at the office.

In what could be under-described as a bad day at the office, Formula One’s newest recruit and youngest driver ever, Max Verstappen, lost control of a full blown Torro Rosso F1 car and slammed it into the guardrail.

Max, who heralds from Holland and is a mere 16 years old, is the son of Jos Verstappen who was also an F1 driver. He has been a part of the Red Bull driver development programme in which his performance landed him the seat in next year’s Torro Rosso F1 Team, making him the youngest F1 driver ever. The rookie from Holland was in the car for the very first time during the recent VKV City Racing 2014 event which is held annually on the streets of the Dutch city of Rotterdam when he met with his accident.
Unfortunately for the youngster, his demonstration laps on the improvised circuit, where he was demonstrating burn-outs and doughnuts, didn’t go quite according to plan when he planted the front end of a very expensive car into the guard rails.

Of course the accident was probably more to do with youthful exuberance and eagerness to impress his home fans. This got us to wondering, in the process of having the accident, he has probably set another record apart from being the youngest F1 driver ever; he is probably the youngest person ever to prang an F1 car.

We wonder how the Torro Rosso team bosses feel about owning that record?
