Last Friday, two lucky winners of the X-1R "Win Yourself A Bike" Contest received the keys to their brand new Kawasaki KSR's. The contest, which spanned from February until April 2014, invited fans of X-1R products to submit their entries, consisting of just a simple, multiple choice question. Winners were selected via lucky draw. The prize-giving took place in Hard Rock Cafe, Kuala Lumpur, where Nigel McKenzie, founder and CEO of X-1R Global Ltd, handed the keys over to Muhammad Ridzuan bin Jaafer and Norzaini bin Muhammad (Proton Manjong Branch).

Boy, that looks heavy.
The event also marks the twelfth anniversary of X-1R Global, which made its foray into Asia back in 2002. In slightly more than a decade, product sales have burgeoned to 150,000 units a month, consisting of lubricants, detergents and power boosters; the formulas of which were derived in the USA where X-1R's lubricants have been used by NASA on the space shuttle crawler. Today, everyday drivers are able to use X-1R products to increase fuel efficiency and reduce wear and tear of their vehicles. X-1R Global supplies to 23 territories, including ASEAN countries, the Middle East, China, India, Japan, South Korea and soon to South Africa.

X-1R's success is in part due to partnerships with various automotive manufacturer, including Honda, Toyota, Autobaccs and Jinbe. X-1R also provides OEM products to Hyundai.

McKenzie reminisces about X-1R's journey
In Malaysia, where X-1R Global is headquartered, the company found early success in being named the official supplier to the country's national automotive company, Proton, with which X-1R continues to work closely.

While X-1R's business grew, the company was avidly involved in the Malaysian racing scene, sponsoring the AMN Motorsports team (2003 Proton Production Car Champions), and other ladies and rookies teams. Last year, it organised the Go-Kart Enduro Race in Sepang and was the title sponsor for Malaysia's Prince of Drift, Tengku Djan.

X-1R continues to soar across Asia, covering more territories and seeking new opportunities. Happy Birthday, X-1R. My, how big you've grown!
